Covering four miles… and 200 years of history

LAST month, we carried a feature on the 200th anniversary of the Pentrich Rising – the last ‘revolution’ on English soil. So this month, we thought we should offer up the superb four-mile walk  that is  The Pentrich Revolution Heritage Trail…

It takes about two hours and takes in many of the landmarks associated with the dramatic events in 1817, from the village pub to the site of Butterley Ironworks. And the plaques along the route explain the significant points before, during and after the June 9/10 revolution…
