SUSIE Stokoe, head of textiles at Chatsworth House, meets me at the Main Gate. She’s apologetic about having to cancel our first attempt at a meeting. “I had to travel at short notice to New York,” she explains.
“The humidity and heat there were causing problems with some of the exhibits in our Treasures from Chatsworth Exhibition, held at Sothebys there.”
