A ‘NORTHERN’ movie first screened in the UK half a century ago shot a 14-year-old boy to worldwide fame… and he’ll be in north Derbyshire this month to introduce a special viewing of a very special film.

The film, of course, was KES – the story of how working-class boy Billy Casper, bullied at school, rears and trains a kestrel – only to see it killed by his older brother…
