A crypt below a Bakewell church is now a workshop for a charity helping African people help themselves, as volunteer Keith Jeffreys reports.

FEW people know the crucial new role of a crypt under the church in Buxton Road,  Bakewell – but if you venture inside  on a Monday or Friday morning, you will find it  buzzing with life.  For this crypt is now the workshop of a charity called  Tools for Self Reliance Bakewell, which was ‘born’ in  a hut in the Lady Manners School grounds in  1984…
