thanks to Derbyshire’s newest attraction.

DERBYSHIRE’S latest, and potentially biggest, tourist attraction has now opened on the banks of the River Derwent in Ambergate and is ready to take its visitors on a fascinating journey through the history of the once-dominant British car industry.
The brainchild of Richard Usher, the former Chesterfield-based Auto Windscreens owner, who has carefully assembled a collection of over 160 classic British cars on the site of the former Richard Johnson & Nephew wireworks at Ambergate, the Great British Car Journey will not be just another car museum but an interactive experience aimed at the whole family.
Using the latest technology to tell the story, yet allowing visitors to actually drive some of the exhibits, should appeal to all ages, not just those of us of a certain age who can readily identify with many of the cars we were so familiar with back in the day.
