A former Derbyshire man is about to help preserve the future of a local breed of sheep – back at his home in Germany, as Steve Brown reports.
In April this year, Reflections featured the local efforts being made to preserve the future of the Derbyshire Gritstone – one of only two breeds of sheep native to the county and a fine, robust animal well suited to ranging over bleak moorland; indeed its very name evokes its hardy nature and a vision of hills swept by wind and rain.
