IT MAY NOT BE the most ground-breaking of trends, but as the first whispers of spring are on the horizon, the runways are running awash with gelato pastels. The SS18 fashion weeks were a veritable pastel pile-up that saw parma violet head-to-toe at Victoria Beckham, lemon sorbet layers at Hermès and tiers upon tiers of pistachio at Sies Marjan.
This spring is all about feel-good fashion, and what could be better than a veritable feast of ice cream hues? They’re the perfect antidote to this prolonged period of post-Christmas gloom and doom, where the weather is dreary and summer holidays still seem light-years away. Adding a hefty dose of playful pastels to your wardrobe does wonders for instantly putting you in a brighter, more cheery mood – after all, fashion is supposed to be fun…
