Rosie Gilligan meets the 85-year-old artist who admits to ‘slowing down a little’ – but whose work is still full of colour and life.
ENTERING Audrey Haworth’s Dronfield home, and seeing the white-painted rooms hung with large canvases, you might guess she’s either an artist or a serious collector of art. Confirmation that she’s an artist – a painter of abstracts – comes when we go into her studio. Here her paintings, drawings and photographs fill the walls and are stacked upright on the floor space. “I’m not doing as much now as I used to,” Audrey admits. “I’m 85 and slowing down a little.”…
