WHEN Chesterfield Symphony Orchestra performs later this month at the Members’ Room in County Hall, Matlock, an audible feast of Schubert, Brahms, Dvorak, Mozart and Bizet will cascade throughout the magnificent, mid-Victorian auditorium: a melodic reprieve from the room’s more usual – and probably less harmonious – function as a meeting room.
