The sculpture occupies the whole of the roundabout. Its eight roots or spokes begin on the outer perimeter and come together in the centre to form a stem of eight petals that twist upwards in an anti-clockwise direction. These gracefully unfold to reveal a magnificent seed head – silver balls on stalks that catch the light as they reach to the sky.
