WHEN CERAMICS ARTIST Olinda Everett decided a year ago to have her portrait painted, she wasn’t entirely sure why. “I thought it might have something to do with reaching my seventieth birthday,” she says. “I did know, though, that portrait painting shouldn’t be seen as something for only a privileged few – a grand portrait, a mark of status.
