Derbyshire could have been home to Europe’s biggest pyramid!

The world’s biggest timepiece and the UK’s biggest work of art nearly stood by the M1 in Derbyshire – but its inventors failed to get enough cash to build it, as Patrick Coleman reports.

WHAT do Derbyshire and Egypt have in common? Isn’t it obvious? Both are home to some of the grandest pyramids found anywhere on Earth! At least, that’s what we would have been saying by now had one of the most ambitious public art projects of recent years come to fruition.
