THE walk from the car park or railway station at Edale towards the village and the looming presence of Kinder Scout is a familiar one to many walkers. Past familiar landmarks such as the church, the rookery in the tall trees and the Nags Head Inn, there is a sense of anticipation for the day ahead. Yet how many notice the orange sign with the flying bird outside The Peak Centre at Champion House by the first bend in the road, let alone wonder what lies within the secluded driveway?
