BARLOW VALE is a landscape of green pastures, hedges, woodland and farms nestling below the Eastern Moors. It featured prominently in the writings of well-known countryside author, the late Roger Redfern, and it is worthwhile stopping to explore its quiet corners on occasion rather than carrying on through to the Peak District’s crowded beauty spots.
