Access for all as the Peak District celebrates National Parks Week

Some of the Peak District National Park’s most accessible walking paths, cycling routes and even boat trips are waiting to be discovered during National Parks Week.

The annual celebration of all that is unique and special about the UK’s 15 National Parks runs from Monday 23rd to Sunday 29th July and this year’s theme is ‘discovery’.

In the Peak District National Park we’re celebrating the wide range of accessible opportunities suitable for wheelchairs, buggies and bikes.

Sarah Fowler, chief executive of the Peak District National Park, said: “We have so much to discover, from amazing landscapes and fascinating cultural heritage to precious wildlife. There really is something for everyone to enjoy and, with so many accessible opportunities now available, it has never been easier to experience Britain’s original National Park.”

Our National Parks Week celebrations start early with Access Open Days on Monday 16th July at Parsley Hay cycle hire centre and North Lees campsite. Visitors can explore accessible trails from Parsley Hay cycle hire from 10am to 3pm and check out our all-access camping pod at North Lees campsite from 2pm to 4pm.
