Take timeless, classic looks, add an element of cosy, and throw in a dash of attitude for an outerwear selection which packs a serious style punch for AW20, says Amy Norbury

IT’S usually one of the highlights of any fashionista’s calendar: that’s right, it’s the time of year when we’re picking out the perfect coat to take us through right until spring. But, as with most facets of life in 2020, the global pandemic has left its indelible mark on the fashion industry, and while the seasonal catwalk shows in early March served up an array of autumnal and winter treats, many fashion houses and high street brands alike have been forced to slow down production on their AW20 arsenal. So it makes sense that the trends which have eventually trickled through place an emphasis on the classic and the comforting – with no small amount of attitude thrown in for good measure. Tough leather, sombre black and timeless heritage checks abound, alongside all things oversized and, well, that little bit cosy…
