Reflections contributor and food festival organiser Richard Alsop may have had to cancel several events – but he’s found a novel way to keep local foodies happy!
For Richard has created a Facebook book called ‘Quarantine Cuisine’ which has gathered nearly 2,000 followers in only a fortnight – a group of people who are sharing recipes and pictures of their own or their favourite dishes.
Richard – who has built a ‘Quarantine Kitchen’ in his own garden! – has also recorded his first two video episodes, which can be viewed by following these links:

Richard and his wife Laura, who gave birth to a daughter Lena earlier this year, run Edge Events, the company behind a series of successful food and drink festivals in Derbyshire in recent years. Check out news on their festivals later this year and in 2021 at http://www.edgeeventsfestivals.co.uk or join the ‘Quarantine Cuisine’ Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/1558184177661976/
Here’s just a few of the latest culinary creations from the Facebook group’s page…
Fantastic group, so many great recipes and ideas. Richard and Laura are the ultimate professionals at organising events.
I have had the great pleasure of cooking at the outside kitchen. What an experience.
So well organised and all safety protocol followed.
