Valuable still life in the attic!

A Chesterfield attic has revealed some fascinating paintings by a 19th century artist, as Vivienne explains.

Autumn Fruits” and a “Promise of Spring” are some of the remaining collection of paintings discovered in an attic in Chesterfield. It is not clear why the hoard was stashed away in the attic, but the indication is that the collection of approximately 15 paintings was bought for investment purposes, as they were not on display but hidden away until the administers of the estate discovered them.
