HADDON HALL is one of the most romantic houses to have survived from the Middle Ages. Its architecture spans Norman, Tudor and Elizabethan eras – times when a great proportion of the population was illiterate, and visual imagery was therefore hugely important. Floral emblems are displayed throughout the rooms at Haddon, representing not only the skills of medieval craftsmanship, but key points in history including royal, religious symbolism, and even fashion statements of the period…
