Chesterfield Midland Station is to the right on this late 1898 map extract – this station still serves the town. The Great Central Railway’s Chesterfield Central Station is to the left. The two parallel dotted lines running from that station are the line of Chesterfield tunnel. Both stations, especially the Midland, once had extensive goods facilities including warehouses.
